Education
Jennifer Pensiero is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over thirteen years of mental health experience with a wide variety of populations and issues, including but not limited to, collaboration with hospitals, emergency services and schools to provide evaluations and critical interventions. In positions she has held during her postgraduate experience she has provided community seminars on parenting stress and a radio appearance to discuss solutions for parents on the topic of sibling rivalry. She has consulted in emergency rooms for children and adolescents in crisis. She has also co-led multifamily therapy groups to assist parents and their adolescents in finding support and solutions for their developmental stage. Her specialty in couples and family issues comprises several facets that affect children and adolescents: parental stress, child-rearing questions, blended family issues, sibling conflict, intergenerational conflicts and separation and divorce problems. She believes in a strength based approach to empower individuals and families to identify their stressors, set specific, attainable goals and to learn to apply more effective solutions for overall long-term healthy functioning.
She is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and has been licensed in Connecticut for the past eight years.
